Our Collective Agreement states that members intending to accept a Long Term Occasional position must submit a QECO Programme 5 evaluation. If you have been an OT for several years, or are a retired member, you may wish to check the programme under which you were most recently evaluated. There is no cost to ask for a re-evaluation from QECO, and you cannot be ‘downgraded’ because of a new programme. For instance, if you were at A4 under programme 3, you will still be at A4 in programme 5. The Board does require an updated evaluation to be submitted before they determine placement on the grid for paying you as an LTO. You can find the QECO application form through www.qeco.on.ca.
