The local is proud to announce that they have been successfully in an arbitrated decision surrounding Preg/Parental Leave and applying to LTOs. It has been recognized that members who are on a statutory leave of absence still have the right to apply for Long-Term Occasional Positions and obtain the benefits that those positions provide. This also allows those members the ability to move back into an LTO position at the completion of their leave. The local is in the process of discussing a remedy for those that were not allowed to apply to LTOs, while on Preg/Parental leave, in the 2016 spring round of LTO staffing.
