CONTRACT EXTENSION – TOWN HALLS AND ONLINE VOTING

A telephone town hall meeting will be held Wednesday, March 1. During the town hall meeting, President Sam Hammond will be providing information and answering questions about ETFO’s 2017-2019 Tentative Extension Agreements.

The Waterloo Region Occasional Teachers’ Local’s Town Hall Call is Wednesday, March 1, 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm (EST)

You will receive an invitation by telephone to participate in one of the town hall meetings a few minutes before the meeting begins.

ONLINE RATIFICATION VOTES

Online Voting Period Begins: Monday, February 27 – 6:00 PM (EST)
Online Voting Period Ends: Friday, March 3 – 11:59 PM (EST)

ETFO is holding two online ratification votes. Subject to ETFO’s Constitution and Bylaws:

Teacher and Occasional Teacher members are eligible to participate in the online ratification vote for the Teacher/OT Tentative Extension Agreement
DECE, ESP, PSP and Education Support members are eligible to participate in the online ratification vote for the Education Worker Tentative Extension Agreement

Voting instructions will be emailed to you on Monday, February 27 just after 6:00 pm.

Not Receiving Calls and Telephone Town Hall Invitations from ETFO?

If you didn’t receive a telephone call on the evening of November 7, 2016 from President Hammond informing you about ETFO’s online survey for central bargaining goals, then it’s possible we don’t have your current telephone number on file.

T4 AND TEACHER TAX CREDIT

The Waterloo Region District School Board on an annual basis will issue T4’s electronically.

The 2016 T4’s are now completed and ready for employees to access.

T4’s can be located by logging onto the staff intranet site athttp://staff.wrdsb.ca using your PAL username and password.

Click only once on the Self Service Portal option. Next, log in using your PAL username and password. Under Employee Functions, select “T4 and T4A”. Under the Document Column, click on the letter T4 for the 2016 year. Once the document opens, you can print this T4.

Another option is to go directly to the Self-Service Portal – https://ess.wrdsb.ca/

Only electronic copies will be provided to active employees unless a request is made by an individual employee for a printed copy. Requests for a printed copy of the 2016 T4 must be sent via Waterworks to “T4 Request”.

Don’t forget, if you have spent any personal money on school supplies, we are now eligible for the “Teacher and Early Childhood Educator School Supply Tax Credit

MEMBER DEVELOPMENT FUND

The Membership Development Fund (MDF) provides ETFO WROTL members with funding to support Professional Development:

Up to a maximum of $160 per member per year for an activity (such as an Additional Qualification (AQ) course or workshop).

A book subsidy of $50 per member per year is also available.

All OT’s with at least one year of membership are eligible.  Applications are reviewed monthly between September and June.  Please take this into consideration when applying.

ETFO will be holding a confidential, member-only information meeting about the two-year Tentative Extension Agreement that was reached during recent provincial bargaining. ETFO members will determine whether the Tentative Extension Agreement will form part of ETFO collective agreements through an all-member, online ratification vote.
