This year’s Labour Day picnic will take place in Waterloo Park on Monday, September 7th, from noon to 4pm. The event is a relaxing atmosphere for families featuring a barbeque, cash bar, children’s rides (donated by Together in Education, Teachers of Waterloo Region), live music, and information tables on current issues. As always, our picnic is a fundraiser for services that help our community: all profits from the event will be donated on a 50-50 basis to the United Way of Kitchener-Waterloo and the United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries.
The theme of this year’s Labour Day picnic is “Labour Feeds the Community.” As such, everything at this year’s picnic (except the cash bar) will be free. We will serve free hot dogs and hamburgers, as well as corn-on-the-cob and vegetarian samosas.
