Welcome back! Teaching is such a unique occupation in that it seems to always provide “fresh start” opportunities throughout the year, even more so in Occasional Teaching. Whether this is the start of a new LTO, a new year, or even a new round of daily assignments, I wish each of you a great fresh start in 2015.
I am extremely optimistic for this year. If I can reference the previous newsletter, the OT daily rate will be adjusted this month and this will immediately affect a majority of the membership. I would also point out that local bargaining is able to now move forward since the government and ETFO provincial has agreed on the central terms. We will have our own preliminary submission ratification soon. Also we have some amazing workshops coming out and exciting social opportunities. Keep your eyes peeled.
