We will be honouring members who have served as Occasional Teachers for the WRDSB for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years. We will also consider and vote on the final budget for 2014-2015 and receive Executive/Committee Reports. We hope to finish about 6:30.
A short presentation about Better Choices and the municipal elections will also be heard.
A light dinner and beverages will be provided.

Time: Registration and Refreshments at 4:00 p.m. Meeting to begin at 4:30 p.m.
Place: Conestogo Place – 110 Manitou Drive, Kitchener.
Dependent care subsidy forms will be available.

The PL Committee is pleased to present Google Apps for Education (GAFE)!
In this hand-on introductory workshop, teachers will access their new WRDSB GAFE accounts, learn about student accounts, and explore the creation and sharing of Google Docs, the organization of their Google Drive, and effective ways to use the collaborative features of GAFE within both the classroom and professional settings.
Participants must bring their own laptop, tablet, chromebook etc…

The Waterloo Region Occasional Teachers’ Local, in collaboration with the Waterloo Region District School Board is pleased to present “Math: Professional Development Opportunity for Occasional Teachers”, a workshop based on current WRDSB Math initiatives.
The purpose of this workshop is to build capacity around effective mathematics instruction for occasional teachers with an emphasis on similar messaging given to contract teachers within WRDSB for continuity.

- The three part lesson
- Creating a math community
- How do I plan for instruction in math?
- Board and Ministry resources that support math instruction
This workshop is designed to prepare Occasional Teachers when working as a classroom teacher. Similar information is presented to those that have participated in the NTIP program. Please consider this when registering.
