School Year 2013/2014

Waterloo Region Occasional Teachers’ Local

Hello WROTs, I’m sure most of you are very busy preparing for another school year. I hope that the last couple months have been enjoyable. The local office started holding regular hours this week. That being said, if you are coming by it would be best to call ahead of time. Our Office Manager, Paul Kruger is in Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I am available all week, but in and out sporadically due to other obligations.

Mail Out

The Local will be sending out a hardcopy of our first newsletter of the year through the post, subsequent monthly newsletters will be sent through e-mail. You can expect your local calendar and some Health and Safety items from the board in the package.
It is very important that if you have moved, or changed your phone number you update the information with us. Updates can be sent to: wrotlocal@etfowatots.ca

Labour Day

Come on out to Waterloo park to celebrate Labour Day, courtesy of our regional Labour Council. I will be slinging burgers, so drop by and say “Hello.”

Welcome Package

If you were hired to the board in the 2012-2013 school year, come to the office to pick up your welcome package. We have included a FREE RESCOURCE in the package. Welcome to ETFO is a resource for all new members who have recently joined ETFO. This resource was developed to provide you with helpful information as you begin your teaching career, and outline the work of your organization as well as the services available to you.

Special FYI

The WRDSB website and Waterworks is currently down. I have no information as to when they are back up.

Sincerely,

Nathan Core
